While I was dating my husband, I developed a taste for soccer. His favorite team is Real Madrid, and lucky for us, they are here in Los Angeles training at UCLA. Yesterday was our Crazy Madrid Fan Day. We went to UCLA and watched them arrive at practice, waited for 1 1/2 hours outside the field (Luis in the sun, me in the library), then watched them sign a few autographs and zoom away in golf carts to their bus. In the afternoon, we went to LAX to greet Spanish players Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos. They were on a Delta/Air France flight so we waiting for them at the Delta International gate (along with a bunch of other misinformed fans), after watching almost all the passengers come down the escalator without them, I noticed the cameraman on his phone, then he hightailed it out the door. I figured he was going to the Air France terminal, so we speed walked from Terminal 5 to 2, found the arrival area, about 10 seconds after we got there, they came out!!
Outside, the graciously signed autographs, and posed for pictures. Luis got to chat with both of them briefly. By the way, they are totally hot! Especially in person! Especially Sergio Ramos!!
