I stopped in for lunch today at the new La Petite Creperie in Mar Vista. Baby steps. Very slowly but surely, Mar Vista is getting cool.
They have sweet and savory crepes, some salads and French press coffee from one of my favorites, The Conservatory for Coffee. I sat down with my kindle and continued reading The Count of Monte Cristo and ordered a buckwheat crepe with asparagus, prociutto and arugula. I have to admit, I figured all the crepes would have some sort of bechamel or cheese, and was a bit disappointed when this one came without. That is fine, it was a much healthier experience than I anticipated. Attractively served, it was a light and satisfying meal. Cute, comfortable interior with lots of natural light, it was a pleasant spot to hang out. Currently open for breakfast and lunch, they will begin serving dinner on September 16.
